Why this page exists

Required, and useful

Under the Consumer Protection Code, intermediaries are required to make a summary of the remuneration arrangements agreed with product producers available on their website. This page is where that lives.

We would publish it anyway. If you do not know how your adviser is paid, you cannot judge the advice. Everything below is also set out in our terms of business, and the actual figures for your own case are given to you in writing before you commit to anything.

How we are paid

The alternative

Fees instead of commission

Where work is done on a fee basis rather than commission, the basis of the fee is agreed with you in writing in advance and set out in our terms of business. Some clients prefer it, particularly for advice that does not result in a product at all.

If a piece of work would earn us commission and you would rather pay a fee and have the commission rebated or reduced, say so. It is a legitimate request and we will put the options side by side in euro.

What you should always be given

01The name of the product producer and the product being recommended.
02What we are paid on it, initially and each year afterwards, in euro as well as percentages.
03What that ongoing payment buys you in terms of service and reviews.
04The alternatives we considered, and why the recommendation is what it is.
